Ampyx Power
Ampyx Power is a young company located in The Hague. About 10 people are working full time on the developement of the PowerPlane. Ampyx Power has a licence from the Dutch airspace authority to fly the PowerPlane near Kraggenburg in the Noordoostpolder at a field owned by Brennels. In December 2010, Ampyx Power expects to have completed the automation of the 10kW prototype.
Ampyx Power has developed the prototype with a subsidy from SenterNovem and an investment from two angel investors in 2009. Ampyx Power is now working on the automation of the 10kW prototype. To finance this development, the Norwegian energy company Statkraft, Europe’s biggest producer of renewable energy and Byte, a Dutch IT company both have agreed to invest in equal equity shares. This will allow Ampyx Power to continue working well into the year 2011.
